Born as a variation model of the M9 design, the D9 fuses the so-called 'lotus wheel'—considered the classic off-road wheel—with M9's characteristic overhanging bead lock design and slit-shaped air scoops rising from the rim, sublimating what could become overly classical into a contemporary form. Compared to the M9, it has been made harder and more mechanical-gear-like, targeting popular pickup trucks like the Triton and Hilux. Hence, the wide-open 9 holes without any minor tricks. Ten air scoops and 9 holes. Like the M9, the 'offset' was created to express an active gear that conveys a sense of movement. The D9 is finished as a hard off-road wheel that doesn't lose to the presence of the tire.

The disc face combines nine holes—a staple of off-road wheel design—in a 'lotus' pattern on the outer circumference with ten deliberately 'offset' openings, creating a pleasant discomfort and active movement.
By adopting the undercut and pierced drill processing on the flange from the M9, it achieves a finish reminiscent of a separate bead lock ring part, emphasizing a genuine off-road taste.
