An API SP GRADE engine oil with enhanced protection against low-speed pre-ignition (LSPI), which can occur in direct-injection engines such as downsized turbo engines under high load even at low rpm, as well as enhanced timing chain and valve wear protection. Its base oil is 100% synthetic oil with carefully selected non-Newtonian viscoelastic properties, suppressing dry starts in horizontally opposed engines and strongly protecting the pistons. For greater durability, the Esterize series uses appropriately balanced White Ester and organic molybdenum. White Ester contains nonpolar groups that protect metal surfaces to reduce friction and polar groups that cushion between metal and oil inside the engine; it is blended uniformly to maximize these properties. Organic molybdenum is a highly effective friction modifier: molybdenum and sulfur compounds in the oil react chemically to form a molybdenum disulfide film on contact surfaces. It adheres to and protects metal surfaces, suppressing increased friction coefficients caused by reduced viscosity at high temperatures. The metal-surface protection of the viscoelastic base oil, combined with the synergistic effects of the 2 additives, White Ester and organic molybdenum, provides sufficient lubrication and reduced friction even at high temperatures, preventing combustion gas blow-by between the piston rings and cylinders to improve power.
