◆ Changing the standard for intake tuning!

On Subaru vehicles, fitting an exposed air cleaner can cause errors in airflow measurement (Figure 1), reducing power and torque below factory levels (Figure 2) or causing knock that adversely affects the engine and, in the worst case, damages it. For this reason, fitting an exposed air cleaner alone has long been considered unsuitable for Subaru vehicles, requiring ECU calibration on the actual vehicle.

The ZERO/SPORTS Direct Flow System combines the Subaru-specific Super Direct Flow Kit exposed air cleaner with a specially developed ECU Airflow Correction Program, providing a cost-effective intake tuning option at a relatively low cost.

◆ Experience improved power, torque and response!

The Super Direct Flow Kit increases intake air volume and improves throttle response even under vacuum. Correcting this appropriately with the ECU Airflow Correction Program improves boost buildup (Figure 3) and increases power, torque and response (Figure 4).

The figures below compare the factory configuration with the Direct Flow System, showing quicker boost buildup at low rpm and increased power and torque throughout the operating range.

Speed limiter modification is also included.

◆ Compatible with immobilizer-equipped vehicles

The Direct Flow System ECU is prepared by installing the specially developed Airflow Correction Program into the ECU already fitted to the customer’s vehicle.

The factory ECU is retained, so the immobilizer functions normally and the Select Monitor (Subaru diagnostic terminal) can still be used.
