Engine heat, heat entering from outside air and exhaust heat raise engine bay temperatures. In the BRZ in particular, the distinctive layout of its horizontally opposed four-cylinder engine means exhaust manifold heat creates high temperatures even with a heat shield. This product shields exhaust manifold heat to suppress temperature increases in the engine bay and air cleaner box. It also directs radiator airflow toward the exhaust manifold to remove heat trapped around the engine bay and manifold efficiently. This suppresses increases in oil, coolant and intake air temperatures, helping the horizontally opposed engine deliver its inherent performance while also protecting the engine.
