Description
The SI-Drive Auto Kit automatically changes the mode of Subaru's SI-Drive system according to accelerator pedal input.
While driving in I mode, pressing the accelerator to merge onto a highway or in a similar situation automatically selects S mode to assist acceleration.
After acceleration ends and a set time passes, it returns to I mode to support economical driving.
It normally uses I mode for fuel economy and automatically selects S mode only when needed, helping avoid wasted fuel.
It also eliminates the inconvenience of operating SI-Drive whenever acceleration is needed,
and can change modes when immediate operation is required.
Recommended for drivers who:
○ Normally drive in I mode for fuel economy
○ Find it inconvenient to operate SI-Drive whenever acceleration is needed, such as when merging onto a highway
○ Frequently switch between I mode and S mode
■ Switching timing can be set as desired
Accelerator opening for switching from I mode to S mode (example: switches when accelerator opening is 30% or higher)
Accelerator opening and time for returning from S mode to I mode (example: returns when accelerator opening remains at 20% or lower for at least 5 seconds)
■ Smart Setting Function
Settings use the steering wheel switches, parking brake and similar controls, so no additional switches are required.
■ S-mode memory function
If S mode is selected manually while the engine is running, the vehicle can start in S mode again after the engine is restarted.
■ Factory switches remain usable
The switches can still be operated as usual after installing the SI-Drive Auto Kit.
The ECU remains standard; the kit simply switches SI-Drive automatically according to accelerator opening, ensuring safe operation.
